PETA has managed to ruffle feathers yet again after their recent men with vegetable penises video, this time with a bizarre pretend dog barbecue stunt in the middle of the street. Their latest stunt has left people with a lump in their throat and several supporters questioning if they have pushed the envelope too far this time. YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:
PETA Horrifies School Children with Their Pretend Dog Barbecue StuntPETA has always been known for their out of the box stunts and activism to spread awareness about animal welfare and advocate for animal rights. Itâs just a few weeks ago when they shocked people by posting a video that showed men dancing with phallic shaped veggies hanging from their nether regions. The distasteful video accompanied by a caption reading, âTraditional masculinity is DEADâ looked like a failed attempt to ride the storm Gilletteâs ad created. PETA is back with their high on shock value activism and this time they started out with a pretend dog barbecue stunt in the middle of the street, outside a mall in Sydney, Australia. A PETA activist dressed as a chef pretended to barbecue a fake dog as symbolism for barbecuing lambs. They urged people to go vegan with the message âif you wouldnât eat a dog, why eat a lamb?â PETA posted the pictures of the stunt on their Twitter account captioning it:
However, quite a lot of people and even supporters felt that they pushed the envelope too far with their latest stunt. While some people felt shaken with the traumatizing effect this could have on school going children, quite a lot of people felt that such acts could drive people further away from veganism. A lot of people were visibly miffed with PETAâs latest street activism stunt. Some were way more than just miffed.Few supporters too called them out on their latest pretend dog barbecue stunt in the middle of the street. There were a good few supporters of the stunt who questioned people why barbecuing a fake dog upsets them but not a real dead lamb or pig. Some people felt that PETAâs new campaign had a point and it was the hour of need for people to associate pigs, sheep, and cows as more than just farm animals. What is your take on PETAâs latest stunt? Do you think they pushed the envelope too far? Or was this necessary to make people understand that lambs, cows, pigs, and sheep too are animals with feelings just like dogs? Letâs discuss this in the comments below. Creamy Cashew Vegan Piccata with PennePasta dishes are one of the quickest and easiest meals to make, not to mention filling and an all around a cheap dish. I have always been a sucker for creamy sauces over red, but after going vegan the marinara blends were more accessible in the neighborhood grocery store. Cashews are a great blank canvas for pasta sauces and I also like to use cauliflower too sometimes to add in some extra veggies. This sauce for vegan piccata with penne is super simple and takes no time at all. Itâs a great creamy version of the traditional piccata sauces with a nice hint of tart lemon and salty capers. Itâs not a heavy taste so it is a good dish to serve up for the kids. All in all, this is a great base so feel free to add in sautéed spinach or roasted Brussels sprouts to amp up your veggies for the day. Ingredients:

Thereâs a lot of different brands available to you as far as vegan and cruelty-free hair dye goes including Manic Panic, Good Dye Young, and Lime Crime. My favorite? Arctic Fox. Arctic Fox is a USA based semi-permanent hair dye brand famous for their cruelty-free stance in the beauty community. Hereâs what makes them so special. Arctic Fox: The Best Vegan Hair Dye BrandWith a line of 19 colors as well as a color diluter, the possibilities are endless as far as potential colors you could experiment with. Their shades are so vibrant, that some can even be used without bleach on virgin hair. For the best results, however, I recommend lightening your hair if yours is naturally dark. Personally, Iâve used aquamarine, virgin pink, sunset orange, and purple rain (and Iâve been thinking about trying many more!) They also have three UV reactive colors in their current line up of shades. Since their products donât contain any harsh chemicals, it is safe not only for expecting mothers but also for you and your fur baby to match manes! Just be sure to check with your doctor as well as your petâs veterinarian first to make sure you get the okay to use the dye and that your dog doesnât have any allergies or skin conditions. Found on their website, the full list of ingredients is as follows: aqua, cetyl alcohol, glycerine, glycerol stearate, PEG-100 stearate, propylene glycol, stearalkonium chloride, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, quaternium-52, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth-20. 15% of Arctic Foxâs profits are donated to organizations fighting animal abuse. The organizations they donate to are Second Chance Animal Shelter, International Fund for Animal Welfare, Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation, and The Humane Society. Arctic Fox hair dye can be found both online via their website, as well as in retail stores such as Sallyâs Beauty Supply and Hot Topic. Interested in dying your hair? I recommend going to a professional for any bleach jobs, just make sure to find a hairdresser you trust that uses vegan products. As for the rest of the color, donât be afraid to do that part yourself. What is your favorite vegan hair dye? Let me know in the comments below. Check this list of ten early symptoms indicating you might be pregnant. If you’re trying to conceive, every slight change in your body can send you into an anxious mess. Every twinge and cramp can leave you counting the days until you can take a pregnancy test. What are the first signs of early pregnancy? Every woman is different. Some women may experience all of these signs, and some may have just a few and others may have none at all. YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:
Ten Early Symptoms Indicating You Might Be PregnantHere is a list of the most common symptoms of early pregnancy. Sore BreastsAre your boobs really sore and tender? Do you flinch every time your arm barely sweeps across them? Sore boobs and nipples can be an early sign of pregnancy. PMS can also cause it, but if it doesn’t go away after a few days, you could be pregnant. This is one of the most common of all the other ten early symptoms indicating you might be pregnant. Darkening NipplesThis is how I knew I was pregnant every time — big, HUGE, dark nipples. You may also see lots of veins in your boobs and little bumps around your nipples. CrampingMild cramping can be one of the early signs of pregnancy. The cramping shouldn’t be severe, though, so contact your healthcare provider if you’re doubled over in pain, if you feel a sharp pain on one side, or if you’re experiencing bleeding. SpottingSome light brown or pink spotting a week before you’re due for your period could actually be implantation bleeding. This is when the fertilized egg burrows into the lining of the uterus. Not every woman experiences implantation bleeding. FatigueAre you walking around like a zombie? Maybe you’re about to be a Mombie. Extreme exhaustion and fatigue are one of the toughest pregnancy symptoms to cope with. Especially if you have a high-stress job or are trying to run around after toddlers. Rest when you can, it should go away in three months, maybe. Frequent UrinationAre you running to the bathroom every five minutes? Frequent urination can be a sure sign of early pregnancy. So if you do find yourself spending more time on the pot than in your office chair, you could be pregnant. Missed PeriodWell, this one is kind of a no-brainer. If your period is regular and you realize after a few days that it hasn’t arrived yet, it’s probably time to take a test. Morning Sickness and Heightened Sense of SmellYet another of my telltale symptoms. If you find yourself nauseous and turned off by certain smells all the time, you could be pregnant. I don’t know why it’s called “morning sickness.” It should be called “all damn day sickness.” Food Cravings and/or AversionsDo you all of a sudden find yourself NEEDING pickles and mashed potatoes at every meal? That was my craving anyway. If you find yourself craving certain foods all the time, you could be pregnant. There’s a flip side to this coin. Is hummus your favorite thing on earth? Do you find yourself wanting to vomit at the sheer thoughts of it now? You could be pregnant. Sudden aversions to food could also be a sign of pregnancy. BloatingThis is another one that happened to me every time. It worsened with each pregnancy too. Do you look like you just ate everything in your pantry? Progesterone relaxes the muscles in your body, including your GI tract. Slowing down your metabolism, therefore causing gas and bloating. If you think you may be pregnant, please talk with your healthcare provider. Don’t worry, we got you covered. Check out these unique ways to celebrate the V-day this year. Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to treat yourself, your significant other and your children. With chocolate, balloons and cards, Valentine’s Day is one of the most commercial days of the year (besides Christmas, of course) Personally, I love the holiday but over the years, it’s grown to feel a bit monotonous. Do you want to change up your Valentine’s day routine and try something a bit different? Here are three unconventional ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:

Three Unconventional Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day This YearVolunteer at your local animal shelter/sanctuary/farmSpending Valentine’s Day this year donating some time and TLC to animals in need is a great activity to do alone, as a couple, as a family, and even among friends. Not only will you feel good helping those animals in need, but you may also find personal solace in volunteering with an organization you care out. Depending on the shelter, you most likely will have to go through an orientation or training process before you are able to handle any animals, but it’s never too late to begin! Re-purpose Old ItemsDIY is for everyone, it can be as simple or elaborate as you would like and with the popularity of Pinterest and YouTube, it can be made painless. Turn old tee-shirts into a quilt or shopping tote, old cans can become small planters, use an old photograph frame to press some of your favorite flowers. By reducing, reusing and recycling items that we already have, we can give life to otherwise unused items sitting around at home. Use old newspaper under your DIY station for easy clean-up. Garden to help Mother EarthIf you don’t have any shelters near you or if you would prefer to stay in, think about helping the planet by doing some gardening. Depending on where you live you may be able to garden outside (like my family in California does all year long) but if not, think about growing some small indoor plants such as basil or mint. This is a fun, hands-on activity that children will be sure to love. If you don’t want to plant anything new, give some extra care to any plants you have or consider starting a compost bin to add to your soil. How will you spend Valentine’s Day this year? From the moment my first child was born, there’s been a kid in my bed. Just as one finally moved into their own bed, a new kid arrived in mine. Sometimes I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and there’ll be a four year old, a thirteen year old, a dog, and me hanging onto the the edge of the bed by a toenail. YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:
My Daughter Won’t Sleep In Her Own Bed And I’m ConflictedMy daughter just refuses to sleep in her own bed. I’ve just given up trying. At this stage, I’ll just do anything for some peace at the end of the day. There’s never any antics or tantrums at bedtime, but I do have to lie there beside her until she falls asleep. I mean a deep deep sleep. I have to wait until the snores can be heard in the living room before I’ll even attempt to do the ninja slide off the bed and out of the room. Who’s in charge here? I don’t think it’s me. It’s not like I’m afraid to let her cry or that I think she’ll be emotionally scarred by falling to sleep on her own. I just want some peace at the end of the day. Am I lazy? Maybe. Am I exhausted? Definitely! So now it’s nine-thirty and I finally get some me time. If I don’t pass out on the bed beside her, I’ll go out to the couch, turn on something other than Ryan’s Toy Review (let’s talk about that sh*t-show another time) and then pass out on the couch. I should’ve just stayed in bed beside her. Not that I would’ve gotten a good night’s sleep. This kid cartwheels around the bed in her sleep. I have a giant bed and a petite little four year old girl takes up every damn inch of it. Every week I tell myself that this is the week that she’s going in her own bed, and every week I fail. My daughter won’t sleep in her own bed at any cost. She has slept in her own bed on a rare occasion, and guess what I do? I toss and turn all night, missing the sweet baby snuggles. I know she’ll grow out of it eventually, I’m sure right now she wants to be next to me because she misses her dad and I make her feel safe. Maybe that’s my problem too. Here’s to the day she decides to start and stay in her own bed, for now, I’ll just enjoy every sweet snore, cozy snuggle, and loving punch in the face. A lot of women develop stretch marks during pregnancy, 50 to 90% in fact. They seem to develop at a faster rate in the third trimester as your tummy gets bigger and bigger, but they can develop at any time during your pregnancy. Stretch marks arenât limited to the belly; they can develop anywhere on your body. You might see stretch marks developing on your breasts, legs, arms, and on your bottom. Here are some natural ways of preventing stretch marks, but like I said, no guarantees! Sometimes you are just genetically predisposed to âtiger stripes.â YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:
Preventing Stretch Marks During PregnancyYou may not want to put strange or artificial ingredients on your body during pregnancy. If this is the case, there are some natural ways to help prevent stretch marks. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a really great moisturizer and can double up as a vegan, natural massage oil! Itâs absorbed very quickly into your skin. Coconut oil contains fatty acids and vitamin E. Virgin coconut oil is the best for treating stretch marks. Just massage it into your skin after your shower. Olive Oil
Olive oil also contains vitamin E and antioxidants, along with healing compounds which can help the healing process. It is a great option for preventing stretch marks and can be used throughout pregnancy. Simply massage extra virgin olive oil into your skin after your shower. Itâs great for alleviating the itch caused by your skin stretching during pregnancy too. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is famous for its soothing and healing properties. Gel from aloe vera plants contains enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids. These help with the skinâs healing process, restoring skin, and preventing stretch marks. If you have an aloe plant, just cut a leaf and squeeze out the gel. Massage it into your tummy or anywhere you want to prevent stretch marks and leave it on to absorb. I tried everything possible to prevent stretch marks but my tummy looks like it was put through a shredder. Now I wear those stripes proudly, like the tiger mama I am.
