Netflix with its new comedy show Workin’ Moms is hitting absolutely the right spots… As a single parent and working Mom, I rarely get the time to myself to just ‘Netflix and chill.’ My days are jam-packed to the brim with two jobs, three if you count keeping my kid alive, entertained, clean and mostly happy. By the time I’ve fought the bedtime fight, I’m usually ready to hit the hay myself. You might also like:
Netflix Totally Nailed It With New Comedy Workin’ MomsI had posted on my Facebook, looking for recommendations for a show to watch. I was looking for something easy, where I didn’t have to think too hard to follow along. One of my friends suggested a new show on Netflix, ‘Workin’ Moms’. Well let me tell you, I jumped all over it. It was touted as funny, relatable and realistic, right up my alley. ‘Workin’ Moms’ covers everything one has to deal with as a working parent. From the emotional struggle of returning to work after maternity leave, the reality of how tough breastfeeding and pumping can be, the hard work that’s involved in keeping the relationship with your partner alive after long sleepless nights and trying to keep a home and family running somewhat smoothly while trying to prove yourself in a demanding career. The show follows the lives of four women who struggle to juggle motherhood, careers, and relationships. The moms met at a mommy and me support group and became allies and fast friends. They prove to be a die-hard support system for each other during the curveballs that life throws at them. Whether it’s postpartum depression, a new job, relationship struggles or an unplanned pregnancy, they are there for each other in a way that’s non-judgy and humorous. The show humorously demonstrates the struggles of being a working mom while highlighting the importance of having a few ride-or-die mom friends by your side. I have to tell you, I binge-watched the show in one night. I was so sucked in that I didn’t care that I was going to be a ‘Mombie’ the next morning. It was well worth the added dark circles under my eyes. It’s worth a watch, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and best of all, you end the series feeling as though you’ve made a whole new group of mom-friends. Have you watched Workin’ Moms?
