A couple who fostered four siblings from the program Opens Hearts and Homes for Children, where children from Eastern European countries in orphanages come to America for a few weeks or months, to experience life outside of institutions, took the leap to adoption.Since its inception in 2011, Open Hearts and Homes for Children has provided hosting experiences for over 700 children from both Latvia and Ukraine. One North Carolina couple, filmed the reaction of their friends and family as they told them that the kids that had spent Christmas and the summer with them, were coming home to stay and they had finalized the adoption process. DOWNLOAD THE RAISE VEGAN APPLE APP “I didn’t want to do the typical, ‘Hey guys, we’re adopting’ Facebook announcement,” Tammy Waltz of Charlotte, North Carolina, told ABC News. “I wanted something I could always remember and I wanted something that my kids remembered.” Waltz said she and her husband Drew fell in love with a group of brothers and sisters, three boys and one girl, after hosting them for the Christmas holiday and five weeks over the summer. Hosting is typically a five-week period of time in the summer and during Christmas where orphans from different countries come to America to experience life in a family – many of which find their forever homes during their stay. After talking to the hosting organization, we found out that they had two younger brothers. We had to pray about hosting four siblings because of many reasons, but after praying we felt so excited, and peace flooded our hearts. After seeing the kids off at the airport as they headed back to Eastern Europe, we instantly noticed how quiet our lives were once again. We found ourselves missing the sounds of giggling, broken English, and remote control cars racing through the house.
